Join us in congratulating five University of Eswatini students from the Luyengo and Kwaluseni campuses on winning the International Competition on Student Standards (ICSS) World Cup 2025! 🎉👏
The winning students walk away with Prize money valued at USD 1000, and a trophy. They are:
✓Amelia Ngwenya
âś“ Tivumile Nkambule
âś“ Lindiwe Dlamini
âś“ Ncamiso Xaba
âś“ Temalangeni Dlamini
Their winning submission addresses digital transformation in food safety management, exploring how artificial intelligence, the Internet of Things, and digital traceability can support this important work.
Mojdeh Rowshan Tabari, Founder of the International Competition on Student Standards (ICSS) World Cup, announced the result during a meeting with the Executive Director at the International Organisation for Standardisation (ISO) Annual General Meeting in France.
The team began developing its submission in April 2026 and established a technical committee on Food Safety Management. Its student standard is titled Food Safety Management—Requirements for Digital Transformation Using Artificial Intelligence, the Internet of Things, and Digital Traceability.
At a press briefing at the Eswatini Standards Authority (ESWASA) offices, Chief Operations Officer Mr Phillip Mndawe, on behalf of the Executive Director, congratulated the students on this historic achievement and commended them for following through with all the processes involved in standards development. He assured them that their standard would be further developed and adopted as a national standard and would serve as a model for future innovations in the field.
By bringing fresh ideas to food safety management, the team shows how students can help build a safer, better future.
To our winning students: congratulations on taking your ideas to the international stage and earning global recognition! 🌍✨
